Is Monogamy Th Ebest Form Of Marriagge Essays - Sexual Fidelity

Is Monogamy Th Ebest Form Of Marriagge March 16, 1999 Is Monogamy the Best Form of Marriage? In the United States, marriage is a commitment two people make for the rest of their lives. The average American marriage lasts seven years. Well over half of all marriages end in divorce (Francouer, 72). Statistics in the infidelity have rose fifty percent since the 1970s and is rising all the time. The divorce count in this country is now up to one out of every three-marriage end in divorce. Serial polygamy is a common lifestyle for those who are divorced and then become remarried. The relationship between a husband and wife should be sacred and trustworthy. Without the trust and honesty there is no marriage. Monogamy is the loving, sharing, and devoting one's self to another person for the rest of their life. Monogamy should be the most important aspect in a marriage. The Western Religious leaders and moralists believe only one spouse for life is the highest form of marriage. Some of the most primitive peoples are strictly monogamous in their ideals, while some highly advanced cultures have moved away from the strict life-long monogamy. Sociologists, Ford and Beech, have found that only twenty-nine of the one-hundred and eighty-five contemporary cultures studied, less than sixteen percent restrict men and women to a single partner for life. However, less than one-third of the twenty-nine monogamous cultures completely disapprove of both premarital and extramarital relations (Francouer 72). For centuries, marriage was a dynastic affair, arranged by the parents and families. During the Middle Ages, they thought of marriage as a passionate love for an unattainable woman, usually the wife of a noble lord. In the 1970s, extramarital sex was estimated at as many as fifty-seventy percent of husbands and wives had been unfaithful at least once during their marriage (Francouer 73). However, in the 1990s, things have changed a little. People do not respect to abide by the Catholic Church laws, such as premarital sex is wrong and divorce is not allowed in the church. Nowadays, you see kids having kids and a child having two different immediate families. Two people in a marriage who are totally committed to each other will nourish and grow closer each and every day they are married. Having this commitment brings the husband and wife together as one. Monogamy fulfills a relationship with love and honesty. Although, some people believe they need to express their love to more than one person. They feel that one person is not enough to keep them satisfied emotionally, spiritually, and also physically. People believe that not being monogamous will open your heart and soul to new and adventurous experiences. I believe monogamy is the best form of marriage. When two people get married they make a life-long decision to stay together as the wedding vow says, until death do us part. Marriage is a big commitment that not everyone is willing to take. I think if you have an intimate relationship (and I do not only mean physically) with one person who means the world to you and who makes you feel happy to be alive, how can you possibly share that kind of love with anybody else. Considering, marriage is all about devoting one's self to that special someone. Being faithful in a marriage makes one feel accepted and loved, knowing they will have someone who will always be there for them. English Essays

Free Essays on Acidosis

What is Acidosis? Acidosis is a condition characterized by excessive acid in the body fluids. It is also known as Metabolic acidosis Causes, incidence, and risk factors The acid/base status of the body (pH) is regulated by the kidneys and the lungs. Acidosis is caused by an accumulation of acid or a significant loss of bicarbonate. The major categories of acidosis are respiratory acidosis and metabolic acidosis. The human body is programmed to correct for either respiratory or metabolic acidosis to maintain normal pH. For example, if the acidosis was caused by excessive carbon dioxide (which is an acid) the body will correct the pH by retaining bicarbonate (a base). Respiratory acidosis develops when there are excessive amounts of carbon dioxide in the body, primarily caused by decreased breathing. Other names for this include hypercapnic acidosis and carbon dioxide acidosis. Treatment, prevention and specific symptoms all depends on what type of acidosis a patient has. The Different Types of Acidosis There are several types of metabolic acidosis. Diabetic acidosis (also called diabetic ketoacidosis and DKA) develops when ketone bodies accumulate during uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. Hyperchloremic acidosis results from excessive loss of sodium bicarbonate from the body, like in severe diarrhea for example. Lactic acidosis is an accumulation of lactic acid. This can be caused by many conditions, including prolonged lack of oxygen, certain diseases, prolonged exercise, hyperventilation, and medications such as oral medications used to treat diabetes. Other causes of metabolic acidosis include severe dehydration resulting in decreased tissue perfusion (decreased blood flow), diarrhea, kidney disease (see distal renal tubular acidosis and proximal renal tubular acidosis), and other metabolic diseases.... Describing people Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Describing people - Assignment Example Be sure to describe for each one their physical appearance, demeanor and positive or negative image. The New Wife: Marc’s new wife Alice is described as dark-skinned and plump, an earthy blue eyed blond, fragile with wavy hair. She is over-indulgent and exuberant, pleased and happy with her husband and his caring attitude. She is naturally curious about her husband’s ex-wife and asks him about the reasons for the breakup, as anyone would naturally want to know. She is positive but nevertheless curious to know what the ex-wife found lacking in Marc. The Ex-Wife: Marc’s ex-wife is described as the woman in white, with dark smooth, lustrous hair and blue eyes. She appears to be a sophisticate and is hard to please, as Marc has told Alice. Alice might have found her superior for a while but can rest content in the knowledge that she is the one with Marc now, while his ex-wife dines alone. 2. Write an essay describing which of the following statements you think best d escribes the character of Alice, the second wife. Provide the number of your choice and briefly defend it. Use at least one example from the selection to support your ideas: 1. She is a thoughtful person beginning to question the wisdom of her decision. 2. She is a shallow person easily swayed by the opinions of others. 3. She is a happily married person exhibiting natural curiosity. 4. Other - Describe Alice in your own words and then defend your statement. In my opinion, (3) Alice is a happily married person exhibiting natural curiosity. She is quite respectful of her husband and a part of the story has her looking him over and wondering what made his first wife leave him†¦ â€Å"She was looking with furtive attention at her husband's face, with its good color and regular shape, at his thick hair with its occasional thread of white silk, at his small, well-cared-for hands. She felt dubious for the first time, and asked herself: "What more did she want, then?" (Colette, 1) an d â€Å"She showed overwhelming gratitude to her husband. She was immodest without knowing it and her entire person revealed over-conspicuous signs of extreme happiness.†(Colette,1). It is human nature to be curious about her spouse’s ex-wife and why they divorced and following her husband’s explanation, this makes Alice wonder why the ex-wife- ‘the woman in white’ -was so hard to please. Nevertheless, Alice would have been pleased to see that she was dining alone, as it would validate her husband’s statement. 3. List three experiences that Sasaki relates in her anecdote. After each experience, describe her reactions to the experience. Then, describe the point you think Sasaki is trying to make by relating this anecdote. One experience that Sasaki relates in ‘Another Writer’s Beginnings’ is that her sister was not as overly concerned with outward appearances as she was. In contrast, Sasaki considered herself an ugly specim en of humanity right from the very beginning. She measures her beauty according to her suitability to being a Mousketeer at age five, while her sister who is three years older than her was realistic enough to know that it is hard for a Japanese to look like a Mouseketeer anyway (Sasaki,1). Secondly, Sasaki is hugely disappointed by her school picture taken at 5 years old and even her mother who was normally a positivist let out a sigh of disdain after viewing the picture. Even she could not find any words of encouragement (Sasaki, 1). Thirdly, at times Sasaki even wished that she could be like her friend Marilyn who was cute and looked as good as Shirley Temple in pictures. She thought at least that would comfort her parents and spare them the embarrassment of having such an

U.S. and Texas government Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

U.S. and Texas government - Essay Example Similarly, the humanitarian agencies have also a problem of supplying them with their basic needs. The government uses the borrowing internally and externally as a strategy to meet the free-rider problem whereas the humanitarian agencies depend on donations from well wishers (Project Vote Smart, 2015). a) Private goods and public goods. Private goods can be described as goods that the citizens of a country can benefit from their consumption. In order for a customer to consume the good, they have to pay the owner of the goods through an agreement of sale. Besides, the supply of private goods is usually limited. In order to derive the demand curve for the entire market, all the curves of every customer have to be added. b) On the other hand, public goods can be defined as products that are offered to the citizens of the country by their government free of charge. Usually, no competition exists given that the government acts as a monopoly. Examples may include voting, provision of relief foods, responding to national emergencies among other services and products provided by a government of its agencies. The free rider problem arises as a result of oversubscription of customers seeking services and products that are offered by the government freely. An example of a free rider problem includes free medical services that are offered by public hospitals. When the government offers the services freely, many people will prefer to seek treatment from public hospitals so that they can reduce their medical expenses.

Social Aspects of Law (UK) Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Social Aspects of Law (UK) - Essay Example tain, as well as deport. In all of these instances except for deportation, the UK Border Agency’s activities apply to both citizens and non-citizens of the UK. In this regard, there is reason for consideration of application of PACE-like standards to the UK Border Patrol in order to standardize its police powers and procedures. 18b. Suppose we had NO state-provided legal aid or advice systems whatsoever in place in this country. Make 5 suggestions for the introduction of an entirely new system of state provision in this area. (1.2) If the country were completely lacking in legal aid and advice systems, an opportunity would exist to suggest an arbitration system that would resolve problems through alternative dispute methods rather than through escalation into the legal justice system. Legal aid can be considered in regard to both civil and criminal matters, as well as in assistance to plaintiffs and defendants. In most instances, the aid is provided to criminal defendants, but there are instances of activist cases where plaintiffs form a claim for reparations or damages, as in a class action procedure. Thus, the recommendation would be do create two distinct assistance foundations for criminal and civil cases to be heard by experts in each field, and for sections to be dedicated to the defense and prosecution as required by the local caseload. Public funding for defenders should be used for paid staff on a permanent basis, and where demand for assistance exceeds the time of staff on-hand, provisions for budgetary supplement and additional hiring should be undertaken. Law students should be provided an opportunity to volunteer and assist with various clerk, paralegal, and advice counseling. Finally, defense assistance should work with and develop more functional ties with social services and volunteer groups helping people to recover from aspects of crime, addiction, abuse, trauma, etc. in society. 19a. Explain the context and meaning of Strict Liability and discuss whether or not it is fair to include it in certain laws. Do you think that the type or extent of punishment for someone found guilty of a strict liability crime should be different to the type and extent of punishment for someone found guilty of a crime where Mens Rea has to be provided? (2.1) Legal standards restrict the application of strict liability primarily to Tort Law as a consequence of business practices or corporate operations where the field of operation has an acknowledged consumer responsibility such as food products, pharmaceuticals, or transportation operations. In these instances, it is accepted as a course of operation that standards of safety must apply to all aspects of operation. In this context, strict liability may apply even when there is no â€Å"guilty mind† or Mens Rea and intention to cause damage on behalf of the business. Indeed, the company may sincerely regret the harm and damage done to

Advice for raising children

Advice for raising children Advice for raising children At different ages children are exposed to different situation; it may or may not lead them to negative emotions. Therefore, parents are always concerned about how to treat their childrens negative emotions, and about how to build intimacy with their children. Recently, I have read four different articles which talk about developing strong bond between parents and children. In the articles, â€Å"Raising an Emotionally Intelligent Child,† by John Gottman, â€Å"Our Approach to Discipline,† by William Sears and Martha Sears, â€Å"The Childhood Roots Of Adult Happiness,† by Edward Hallowell, â€Å"How to Behave so Your Children Will, too,† by Salv Severe focuse on building healthy relationship between children and parents. Gottman, Hallowell, and Sears, emphasis the important of communication in parenting. Parenting can be very difficult, but these tips that authors offer may help you become closer with your child. Gottman claims that empathy strength the parent children bond. Parents must acknowledge their own negative emotions before they try to understand their childrens emotions. When you talk to your kids about their problems, you show them that you are their ally when it comforts and supports your child. Parents want their children to be more independent and solve their own problem. Sometimes parents tend to neglect their childrens emotion, just to teach them lesson; however it causes children to build negative emotions. Thus, it is essential to have an understanding between parents and children to enrich strong relationship. Sears suggests discipline is effective when parents connect with their children (pg 90). The parents are connected to their children; the more likely the children are to acc ept the parents discipline. Hallowell asserts that when parents love and accept their children, the parents and children develop connectedness (pg 97). Strong connectedness at school and home will make child less likely to become depressed, suicidal or drug users. Children are happier and more confident when they feel connected. Severe insists that parents are most effective with discipline when they cooperate with their children rather than trying to control them (pg 108). If parents let their children make decision, children learn independent. As with Sears strong parent child bond ensures the effectiveness of discipline. In addition, sears claims that communication between children reduces misbehavior it is really important how you interpret your childs problem and listen to it. Once children have experienced their own feeling, they are capable of understanding others. When parents child relationship is good, children accept more of their parents modeling. If parents want their c hildren to respect others, they have to respect their children too. Parents who communication well with their children, and enable their children to communication well with others. Sears and Hallowell believe that Childrens self-esteem influences their social behavior and learning. Hallowell asserts that motivations, positive attitudes, and behaviors influence children to have high self-esteem (pg 98). Children who have high self-esteem are mostly likely to response optimistically. They also manage difficult situation, and less negative emotions. Sears considers that children who act positively and tend to have high self-image. They also behave in wise manner. In addition, children with low self-esteem will not able to experience anything new; thus, they are less likely to succeed in school. Severe asserts parents should teach their children to make responsible decisions (pg 109). If the children are having hard time finding the solutions, parents should ask them for the possible solutions they can come up with it. There are usually more than one solution but allow your children to come up with the solutions. It will help them to understand the consequences and improve their ability to consciously make wise decisions. Sears and Gottman insist parents to set up limits on their children to maintain discipline and behavior. Sears claims that setting up limits on childrens behavior, the children are less likely to cross their limits (pg 92). When setting limits, you will sometimes need to alter to the more cruel disciplinary approach of punishment. If parents set harsh limits, their children will learn positive discipline. It helps them develop into responsible and dependable adults. Gottman believes that parents often set limits for childrens misbehavior and it also makes life more successful for your child in the long run. Sever believes that children often learn how to behave from their parents behavior (pg 106). Childrens home environment influenced on their school performance therefore, if children have grown up in environment where it is happy, they tend have positive influence. The qualities the children received from their parents are being polite, supportive, caring, generous and compassionate. Parents are their most profound inspiration. Parenting style can be present various ways throughout childrens life. Since children learn most of their behavior from their parents, these techniques greatly helpful for parents to raise children.

OSIM Company Essay

OSIM the well establish Asia healthy life style brand, originated from Singapore. OSIM was founded by Dr Ron Sim Chye Hock in November 1980. Initially derive from R Sim Trading which deal mainly with household appliance. Dr Ron Sim Chye Hock later founded OSIM and eventually changes his focus to creating healthy life style products since he felt a great market potential in home care products in Asia. Dr Ron Sim Chye Hock brought together different equipment manufacturers and introduces OSIM which then receives significant growth to the extent of establishing multiple outlets Asia (straitstime). Having the motto â€Å"Inspiring Life† OSIM company has a significant numbers of outlets all over the world (osim) Situational Analysis on Micro and Macro Factors In the IT and Health conscious era, companies are trying to find opportunities to stay ahead of other rival companies. Companies have to examine and evaluate their environmental forces and take necessary  approaches in order to stay competitive. Micro Factors Microenvironments are factors closely related to company operations and directly impact the customer experience. OSIM has several factors that affect her greatly. A way to show case these factors are by Michael Porter Five Force Model which is: Competitor, Threat of New Entry, Supplier Power, Threat of substitutes and Customers. Competitors Direct: Direct competitors are competitors who have similar products, technology and same target audience. The major direct competitors of OSIM are Ogawa and OTO. Both have a decent market share in the health related appliances. Technologies in their products enable them to remain competitive against OSIM. Their products are much cheaper compared to OSIM, therefore a number of people purchase their products. However by having great marketing senses, consistently earning prestigious award and manufacturing quality products. OSIM is the leading brand of health care appliances. (P) Indirect: OSIM also face indirect competitors such Holistic, Chiropractic, self treatments, Traditional Chinese Medicine and western practices. Indirect competitors offer not just the external but also internal treatments like pills and supplements. However these treatments require an appointment, evaluations and importantly time from your busy schedule which you cannot commit to. OSIM products are made portable and simple enough as not to abrupt our daily lifestyle. Threat of New Entry: The threat of new entry is at a minimal since the market is mainly dominated by OSIM, OGAWA and OTO. For a new brand to enter this market they will have to have significant capital, the tenacity to face reputable brand that have a foot holding in Singapore and technologies that surpasses OSIM. Supplier Power – OSIM has several suppliers that are located main in Asia. They are mainly situated in India, China and Vietnam. The Supplier power here has a moderate control on OSIM as they have been supplying O SIM with her products for the past few years. However by being situated in these developing countries, OSIM is able  to reduce cost on labor works on building and manufacturing of their products while still maintaining their high standard of quality products Threat of substitutes – Technological advancement and new discoveries may pose a threat to OSIM. Since the other two major substitutes are OGAWA and OTO, consumer tends to purchase products that are cheaper with a reputable brand name. However, with OSIM high product quality, achievements and awards the threat of substitute is moderately low as consumers are well aware of what OSIM are known for. OSIM can reduce the threat of substitute by improving her customer loyalty. (osim, http://blog.osim.com/) Customers – OSIM originated from Singapore, a first world country strategically place in South-East Asia, OSIM can use it to their advantage. From word of mouth by someone we know. We are reminded that OSIM offers quality products that had helped people. Having its headquarters in Singapore, OSIM uses this opportunity to exploit Singapore high standards of living and also its world class airport. These customers are the most important resources that significantly affect any company. The issue OSIM is facing is that not every individual need to purchase OSIM products as it can be shared. Most of OSIM massaging chairs are purchased and shared within a household. This causes OSIM some problems as these limits the sales of OSIM products. Macro Factors Political Factors – The political factor that will benefits OSIM is the government intention to increase Singapore population to 6.9 million by 2030 will widen the market and adversely increase OSIM sales (straitstimes). Economic Factors – A growing inflation or recession can all affect the way consumer thinks and hence affect OSIM ability to get a stable profit. Economic factors are usually unforeseen since forecasts and analyses are affected by global changes and natural disasters. Unemployment levels, money value exchange rates, and the state of the global economy can all help or hurt OSIM. (tradingeconomics) Social Factors -As the population is getting more educated, we are more aware of our health and well being of ourselves and those of our family members. Singapore is known for its materialistic culture and Singaporeans push themselves in pursuit wealth and happiness (Janus corp). To do so, we tend  to work long hours and disregarding our own health to achieve wealth. OSIM may benefit from the health issues that arise from this as the appliances will not hinder the hectic and busy work life of Singaporeans. Technological Factors – Can influence how OSIM maintain and improve her business. A new type of machinery or product created can help OSIM stay ahead of the competitions. Other technological trends may include online transaction, ability to give feedback/complaint, purchase online and monitor the shipment. Demographic Factors – Singapore has an ageing population with low birth rate but more elderly. This target audience, the elderlys benefited most from OSIM product s as they often requires health care. The standard of living and health care advances contribute to demographic factors too. (sgplan) Legal Factors – Singapore have a new policy of Levies and quotas for hiring Foreign Workers. These changes may have an effect on OSIM since Singapore is a multicultural country with a big diversity of foreigners working here. The new policy requires a company to pay a certain amount of cash to have the work pass holder to work for them (mom.gov.sg). Lemon law was implemented to Singapore, the idea of lemon law is to protects customers for not up to standards or defectives goods. However it does not affects OSIM products much as OSIM produces high quality products. (Rikvin) SWOT Analysis After gathering the internal and external factors that can affect OSIM greatly, the next step is to do a SWOT analysis. It provides helpful information to make changes in marketing and strategic planning to avoid issues OSIM may face and to exploit the opportunities that may arise. The best way to do so is by reducing the threats and weakness but increasing the strengths and opportunities. OSIM an extremely strong and recognize brand name. Reputable brand compared to competitors, customers has a strong trust and confidence in OSIM OSIM has a good history originating from Singapore, has four outlets in Singapore to reach the target audience efficiently. Regular marketing strategy and involvement with the public and community has strengthen the bonds and trust to OSIM STRENGTHS OSIM products are costly compare to her competitors. Target audience, may shared OSIM products with one another hence lesser sales for OSIM Competitors may come up with products and marketing strategies that could change the customers brand selection. A letdown from OSIM may cause customer have enormous discredit ability of OSIM due to her high reputation and achievements. WEAKNESS OPPORTUNITIES People are getting more health conscious about themselves could be a opportunity for OSIM to increase her profits. Better technology may entice customer to purchase OSIM products online for its mode of convenience. Due to the aging population the target audience for OSIM will be wider as this target audience tends to be in need of health appliance. Government intention of having a population of 6.9 million by 2030, currently Singapore population is at 5.3million. Will significantly broaden target audience. THREATS New changes in the policy and regulations may affects OSIM sales. The rising inflation will limit the spending power of the customers; they will in avertedly reduce OSIM sales of products hence less income for OSIM. New technologies and discoveries can cause OSIM products and machineries to be obsolete Shifts in customers selection away from the OSIM’s products Issue Analysis The issue that I would like to point out is that competitors may come up with products and marketing strategies that could change the brand selection away from OSIM. This can lead to a bad long run effect to OSIM. If the competitors can do so and improves their reputation, OSIM will lose their high market share, target audiences and profitability. Recommendations My recommendations to avoid the issue at hand is by aggressively and regularly market themselves to the public and dominate the advertisement of home health care appliances. OSIM can also promote health related events like marathons to support and ensure the public their commitment of health care of the consumers. By doing so, they will retain their market share and status; eventually with the increase populations in the years come OSIM will have much better sales due to strong solid foot holding in Singapore. OSIM can also achieve this by constantly receiving and retaining their awards this will ensure the public that the quality standards of OSIM are higher tier compared to their competitors. Conclusion I personally consider OSIM to have been a very successful company in establishing themselves in the healthy life style industry. However there are many factors that could positively or negatively affect OSIM, technology in the hand of OSIM may be advantages whereas in the hand of competitor is disadvantages to OSIM. Even so there are certain approaches and ways to ensure OSIM to be ahead of her competitors. Receiving and achieving multiples awards, milestone and expending globally has proven my theory of OSIM being a successful company. Referencing 1. Victorian to Modern changes in Literature Essay

Victorian to Modern changes in Literature - Essay Example The Victorian literature forms the transition between the romantic period and the much different literature of the 20th century such as the Modernist Literature. The literature of the Victorian era had several shared characteristics; The Victorian literature is also more practical and seems to reflect an increased closeness and interest to daily practical problems in human life. The literature is used as an instrument to indicate human progress especially in an era where industrialism was rising while various societal issues such as women’s rights and child labor among others were getting more scrutiny from the public (Browning & Ada 121). The Victorian literature depicts a more idealistic approach to life despite the era being described as practical. Most writers such as poets, novelists, and essayists emphasize more on ideals such as truth, justice, brotherhood and love among others. A good example is seen in Tennyson’s poem Ulysses, where he emphasizes the ideal life that could provide him with more freedom to travel and adventure (Gupta 68). For the purpose of analysis of this era, the discussion will segment it into three parts; the early, middle and late Victorian era. In the early era, the British Empire was undergoing a period of economic prosperity with the several industrialization work taking place during this time. For example, the empire was having various infrastructural developments such as railway-making, construction works and coal mining processes. The era was also characterized by a widespread poor living and working conditions, child labor and unfair treatment of women. The literature during this era was more focused on the celebration of the English people and their superiority in the world. In the mid-Victorian period, the major changes were seen due to the enactment of the Factory Acts which saw changes such as restriction of child labor among others.

Case study - Essay Example The network initiative implemented in Danone forced some of the local managers to behave like dictators. It was difficult for the employees to share the knowledge over the network without seeking the consent of the managers. Mougin deliberately allowed the local managers to take more power in order to have products that differed from market to market, to stay close to consumers. He calculated that decentralization would help Canone to compete more effectively in the market. In short, Mougin found no harm in giving more autonomy to the local managers. However the frontline managers were confused by the above strategy. â€Å"They lacked clear directions from headquarters and often didn’t know whom to turn to for advice. And, there was little horizontal communication among the large divisions† (Edmondson et al, 2008, p.6). Front line managers became less powerful or jobless because of the decentralization strategies of Mougin. On the other hand the local managers acquired more power in the absence of any centralized control. Danone has no centralized database for recoding or saving the knowledge of its employees. The network initiative helped the company only in exchanging the ideas of the workers; however the company has not taken any serious effort to save that knowledge for the future references. Moreover, the Company failed miserably in segregating between the knowledge and information. Some of the information exchanged through the network was mere information whereas some others were knowledge. Knowledge needed to be protected for future references even though some of the information can be neglected. In short, Danone has to enforce more centralized control both in their organizational functioning and in the knowledge management. Local managers should work under the frontline managers and they should perform everything after taking the permission from the front line mangers. If the company likes to continue with the strategy of giving autonomy t o their local mangers, then it is better for the company to use the frontline mangers in other areas of its functioning. Knowledge exchanged through the network should be saved for future reference. My assessment of the Networking Attitude initiative The Networking Attitude initiative was a way to share knowledge across groups in the geographically dispersed Danone Company (Edmondson et al, 2008, p.1). The networking attitude initiative was a well thought out strategy in my opinion. Danone has business units in more than 120 countries and it is necessary for the company to exchange the newly developed knowledge across its business networks. Business concepts, philosophies and climates are changing rapidly because of the knowledge explosion and it is essential for Danone to update the knowledge of its diverse workforce periodically. Danone has allowed its employees to share their knowledge between them rather than waiting for the instructions of the superiors. In other words, sharing of the knowledge between the employees helped Danone workforce to function more efficiently and that also at the right time. The consequences of the time delay in obtaining the instructions from the superiors in a rapidly paced business environment were thus avoided in Danone Company. â€Å"From 2004 to 2007, Danone employees shared almost 640 good practices with colleagues† (Edmondson et al,
